TECHNOLOGY UPDATE – Hot Topics in Dentistry

Still our most popular program! This presentation is an overview of some of the current technology in dentistry. Each item will be presented in short segments, but will give the basic “what is it?” and “how to’s”. Topics could include:

While the “Hot Topics” program is popular and can give a broader overview, sometimes a group will want to focus in a particular area, product, or technique. The following programs offer a more direct look in the topic and still can be modified to fit within the group’s schedule.

WHICH METAL-FREE RESTORATION TO USE?

A complete look at the various metal-free options for veneers, inlays - onlays, and full crowns. DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE DENTAL OFFICE

Digital cameras and how they can be used will be discussed along with recommendations and clinical suggestions to make this new area of photography more effective in the dental office. Various camera options, from a simple point & shoot to the sophisticated SLR systems, will be presented along with specific techniques on taking quality intraoral photographs for case presentations, lab communications, and patient records.
 

MISSING LATERAL SOLUTIONS

An overview and clinical step-by-step guides of the various options for missing lateral cases. Techniques such as Maryland Bridges, the Carolina Bridge, the Monodont single tooth appliance, and the TAD Provisional will be presented.
 

DENTAL OPTIONS FOR SNORING

This program presents the latest in research in the area of snoring and mild to moderate apnea treatment with dental devices. Patient evaluation and diagnosis parameters will be shown, giving you the basic information necessary to integrate a snoring/apnea treatment system option into your practice.

Approximately 55-75% of the impressions received by labs are the dual-arch, “triple tray” design, clearly illustrating their popularity for time and cost savings to the Dentist. This program will give the guidelines necessary for successful results: Which trays work best; clinical “do’s and don’ts”; impression material choice; what the lab should know; troubleshooting; and a fast, simple and proven temporization technique.
 

LOCATOR CLINICAL USES

An in-depth look at the popular attachment and how it can be used. Step by step instructions will be presented for using the Locatortm over existing dentition and with implant restorations.
 

ACCU-DENT IMPRESSION SYSTEM

A complete look at this highly accurate impression system which designed to provide excellent edentulous impressions without the normal problems associated with custom trays, border molding, etc. A full description of the specially designed trays, the 2-phase alginate, and complete clinical step-by-step procedures will be presented. Both the System 1 (full arch edentulous) and System 2 (partial denture) impression systems and techniques will be presented.
 

IMPLANT OVERVIEW

A general overview of current trends in implant restoration, including the common types of fixed, removable, and hybrid restorations. A synopsis of the clinical steps will be presented, including impressions, temporization, and seating steps. Digital impressions, guided surgery software, and advanced imaging tools are just a few of the cutting edge technologies that will also be shared.
